On Rollers

It not very difficult to get on bike on rollers but support is needed. I use window sill for support while getting on and also when I lose balance talking to my daughter.


It has been close to six months since my bike is IDLE. I had to rest for couple of months owing to keen pain and then another couple while away on a business trip. The wear here is result of riding for a mere half-an-hour.


No insane hero-ism until I get used to rollers. A stack of beds also, for support.

First Solo Ride on NICE Road, Bangalore

I have started weekend rides but this is my first solo. I like the NICE road for it is less polluted and has very less traffic. Though I miss trees I don't have complaints. Few pics from CameraPhone, just to give an idea what NICE road is.




For some reason, which I don't understand, this road is not yet on google maps. Anyways, this post was not to give you complete details of my ride. I'll soon find a GPS and a good cyclocomputer to post complete details about my ride. It has just started with some silly 60km. I plan to make it serious rides going further.

Suggestions on GPS with Cyclocomputers are welcome.

My Commuter

March 2007, sold my two years old Thunderbird to get back to cycling. With all the options I had in March, I brought, unwillingly, Hero Thunder MTB. I wished for Hero Thunder Racer, got misguided that it's production has stopped. Life's going on.


Jan 2008, My Office is just 2km from home. I have to stop at least twice at the signals. External gear is not for this kind of commute, finally decided to buy a internal hub gear. Coincidently, my in-law were returning from U.S and they got me a Shimano Nexus-8. I understand that the kind of gear ratios don't suit MTB but I didn't want to go for a new bike. So using it on my MTB. I plan to upgrade to a urban bike later.





What I need is an Urban bike with 700c wheels, internal hub gear, hub dynamo(not generator) and with carrier. I wish for such an urban bike.
